Production Division

IPSC Production division in New Zealand has become extremely popular in the last few years. Many top shooters enjoying the challenge of going back to basics - leaving the equipment race behind.

Production division has specific rules which prevent modifying your gun to the extreme. Also guns must be listed on the Production Division Gun List in order to qualify for use.

Benefits of shooting Production division

  • Cheaper startup cost - guns are a lot less expensive than Standard or Open division.
  • 9mm ammunition is readily available and reloading components are cheaper than other calibres.
  • High level of competition from D grade through to Master Grade.
  • Challenging and exciting.

3 Gun

3 gun requires the use of pistol, shotgun and rifle. Chris has recently began importing the high end JP competition rifles. If you want the very best in competition rifles then you can't go past the JP.

About the Owner

Chris has been shooting IPSC competitively for over 15 years. He has competed regionally, nationally and internationally. Overall winner at the North Island Champs (2001, 2002, 2006) Overall winner at the South Island Champs(2006, 2007) and top placed New Zealander at Nationals (2002, 2004).

In 2008 Chris then turned his attention to shooting IPSC Production division. After asking around at the various gun shops he was not able to get the gun he wanted  so decided to import one himself. After successfully importing his competition production gun (CZ75 SP01 Shadow). Other competition shooters soon became interested in getting the same gun. Chris applied for his firearms dealers license and Competition Guns was born.

What makes Competition Guns different

Chris owns and shoots all of the products listed on the site. He has intimate knowledge of the CZ Shadow and years of experience in tuning guns and equipment for competition use. Chris carries a range of spare parts to limit the down time if something should ever break and has access to a very competent gun smith.
